Tang Soo Do
Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean martial art, and one of the oldest martial art systems still taught today. Literally translated Tang Soo Do refers to the use of your hand, and trains students both mentally and physically. Involving the application of endurance, co-ordination, balance, power and mobility this martial art incorporates hand and foot techniques, patterns(forms), stances, sparring and one-step techniques, all of which will teach you self defence and give you confidence within enjoyable fitness session. As progression is made, senior grades will also learn the art of weapons. Tang Soo Do is suitbale for ALL aged 6 plus.
Juniors (7- 14yrs)
Tang Soo Do is great for kids, and will help them develop much more than just their fitness. Whilst having fun and making friends, the benefits include gaining confidence, developing balance and co-ordination and learning self-defence, discipline and respect; all skills which will help them develop in what ever they chose to do in the future.
Being aware of the differences in how we learn, depending on our age and personal qualities, our instructors aim to make every class enjoyable and suitable for each child. Similarly to our little PUMA program, our Junior syllabus includes gradings & awards; mixing the teachings of traditional martial arts with fun and games in an active learning enviornment. Suitable for children from 7 years, our Juniors will not only develop their skills in the traditional martial art but will gain confidence and awareness of surrounding issues such as bullying and stranger awareness.
Adults (14ys plus)
Our adult syllabus trains our students mentally and physically, improving fitness, flexibility and confidence, whilst learning self-defence in a friendly and welcoming class. There are currently 3 adult sessions running per week, and you are welcome to train as a family or as an individual (family discounts available). Please see TSD Classes for more information.
