Little PUMA's 4-7 Yearrs

What is Little PUMAs?

Little P.U.M.A's is the springboard into Tang Soo Do (TSD), teaching your child all the basics of a defensive martial art at a level they understand. It aids childhood development, while teaching and promoting life skills. The natural progression for a child would be to move up to the junior classes at roughly 7 years of age, giving them a fantastic head start into their TSD career.

There are 5 key areas we concentrate on;

  • Self esteem
  • Discipline
  • Channelling aggression
  • Confidence
  • Self-defence

What will my child experience?

Little PUMAs begins to enable each child to deal with issues such as bullying and strangers, teaching important life skills within fun-fillled lessons. Each 35 minute session is packed full of educational games and exercises which are designed to challenge and motivate 4-7 year olds, developing fitness, life skills, co-ordination, team work and communication.

Within a fun and safe enviornment with focus on progression and celebrating children's individual achievements, your child will learn that by paying attention and participating in class, they will earn new belts, beginning to set goals and develop what is needed to conquer challenges.

How can I tell if my child is progressing?

There are 8 Little PUMA gradings based on set themes which encourage confidence, development and respect. With each successful grading your child will recieve a new belt progressing from a plain white belt to a half white, half black - the final achievement within Little PUMAs.

The themes will be set in no particular order, but will include the following: Balance, Focus / Concentration, Memory, Stranger Awareness / Emergency skills, Co-ordination, Teamwork / Leadership, Fitness, Discipline.

When are the gradings?

The gradings take place roughly every 3 months. For those children who join us at an older age, they may not train long enough to reach the top belts. This is not a problem as they would then be ready to move upto our junior Tang Soo Do sessions, taking with them their current belt ready to begin their climb to Black Belt.
