Tang Soo Do - FAQs

How do I start?

Just turn up and give it a go! There is no need to book, but feel free to contact us for more information or just to let us know that you're thinking of paying us a visit. It is helpful if you can turn up 5 to 10 minutes before class starts.


How much does it cost?

What clothes do I need to wear for training?

Initially sport clothing is advised, t-shirt and joggers. Make sure to remove the jewellery to prevent injuring yourself or others. With your intial start up process you will be able to order a PUMA tang soo training suit.


Are there any age restrictions?

We have lessons available for all ages from 4 years! It doesn't matter how old you are.


Do I have to compete?

No. PUMA offer many of opportunities for competitions up and down the country and it is often suggested that students should atleast give it a try or attend to support other students, however it is completely optional and we would never force a student to attend competitions.


Can I train at the same time as my child of under 13 years?

Our junior class on a wednesday runs alongside the Junior class. You are able to train in the same hall however due to the differences is sessions, breaking down the children's with games you will not be training with them.


Do it I need to get fit before joining?

No you don't need to be fit or flexible, the training will increase both of these in time.


I want to learn to defend myself, will this help?

Yes, we cover many self-defence situtations and the applications of Tang Soo Do techniques will help to give you confidence and awareness of how to help yourself if ever needed. However, Tang Soo Do is a traditional martial art and requires practice and commitment.
